...has a reasonably well written look at the FR-7 and FR-8.

Some good pix, and a bit of background on the 7.62 Cetme cartridge and it's predecessor.

Of interest is the warning on pressure for the FR-7. FR-8's aren't really excused from this, but since they were done on receivers made for the 7.92 x 57 mm, a bit of pushing can be tolerated.
Win factory .308 150 gr. is rated 52,000 c.u.p. , which is getting towards the borderline zone. Reloading is definitely in your best interests, even with the FR-8. Look for pressures around 47,000, and watch for cratered primers.

Of extra interest is the somewhat limited discussion on bore diameters.

I subscribed to shotgun news for a lot of years... until the instanet made it obsolete. I quit buying copies when they had a series explaining how to sporterize different surplus types.

I miss some features though. Like SARCO ads where you could buy a box o' misc. stuff for 'one low price'. A close friend and I got some neat junk that way. Like 22 Oresky dies. Which turned out to be 22/30 carbine round. I also got a couple smashed S&W 38 revolvers.

In their finite wisdom, the army dumped thousands of them on a cement runway and ran over them with a Cat. Still plenty of useful pieces, though. I used a spring from one earlier this year. SW

The Sarco ad's are still there. Dunno if they still do the box of mystery stuff still- their ad makes up half the magazine...

I had gone in to buy Guns of the Old West rag, but no dice. Should be on the stands mid January. Firearms News is o.k. most of the time. About every 2nd issue has an airgun article, but not this one.

The "Fusil Refurbed" article was worth the 6 or 7 bucks I paid...
