The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username. So, if I had to pick between an M48 and a 24/47, any input?

The 24/47 has a straight bolt, while the M48 has a bent bolt. That could be a consideration later if I wanted to put a sight on it.

I can get the specs on the M48 from SurplusRifle, but I can't find them for the 24/47. Overall length? Barrel length? I'm assuming they're both 8mm Mauser.

The 24/47s are still pretty widely available, but the M48s are only in the auctions.
