Here is my BNZ 43 K98 rifle. It is a matching parts rifle, I think its an import as on the mag plate its stamped GERMANY. It has almost no finish left on it's exposed metal surface. What has always seemed odd to me is the stock. Its a cupped butt plate, laminated stock that I believe has never been sanded.

There is no numbers or markings on the stock. The stock is much like the last ditch Japanese rifle stocks. It still has the chatter marks from when it was tooled out of the laminate stock blank. I don't know but my thoughts are this stock was a very late stock put on a 1943 rifle towards the end of the war. The rifle bore is very nice and sharp.

Mybusa,look at the left side of the recoil lug and see what the WaA number is.That should get you close on the year the stock was made.Try this site.

Sometimes it's on the recoil lug on the outside of the stock.Sometimes on the
bolt take down disc.If the stock has the stamps on it in the wood between the bolt take down and the buttplate on the right side,it should be there.Look on the metal parts on the stock,bayo lug or the metal piece under the bayo lug.Late stocks may not have them.I'm not up on the late stocks.Is it drilled for a cleaning rod?

No markings on that stock at all. I looked all over it and negative on any thing. Here are the inside stock photos.
