I've gotten some great information here in the past and hope you guys can come through again. Got a Swede Mauser yesterday on-line. It has a blank stock disc next to the range adjustment decal. I don't mean an un-punched disc--I mean blank. Anyone hazard a guess as to what this disc means and why there is not a regular bore condition disc present? Thanks. |

Could be someone switched it or turned it over or maybe that is the way it is. Rad |

I don't know where I got this information, but I thought that this blank replaced the standard one when for one reason or another the rifle was slated to be rebarreled or exceeded headspace.???? I am not sure of this. |

Here are a few useful sources I have found. The 2 screw disc was used for unit ID. I have not found anywhere as to the significance of blank unit ID disc or lack of the bore condition disc. There is a reference book for the Swede out there, 257 pages worth, that would have it if it is significant. Just google Swedish Mauser Collectors Series. swedishmauserhistory.pdf [42.15 KiB] Downloaded 202 times swede_m38-m41b-m96.pdf [561.62 KiB] Downloaded 200 times This one here has some really nice disc pictures |

Finally picked up my stuff at the auction. Pulled off the "blank" stock disc and found this on the reverse side Also found this tag hanging on the cleaning rod. Some sort of rack tag, I imagine |
