This little tale has a bit of a scary bent to it.
Mrs and I and my Sis were on our way to Breezy Point to fish.
Good thing we were on a 4 laner, and not a 2 laner.
At any rate, I tromped it a bit to pass. All I got was a series of shuddering back-fires, instead of the somewhat hesitant acceleration we are accustomed to.

This is what I found in the air intake/filter box of my V-6 3.3 L Uplander... There was enough Christies soup crackers in there to completely cut off air under "demand" acceleration. What is in the photo doesn't show the amount that fell out on the ground on opening.

The neighbors leave out a lot of stale bread and stuff for the little brown Fox squirrels and chippies in the back lane. I have previously found stale bread on the engine block before and not thought much of it. We had a storm here last October that took out a lot of the elm trees in the alley, and the squirrels are looking for new places for their hoards...

At least the pesky lil varmints are leaving my electrical system alone, I think.

Regards,

Doc Sharptail

In my experience squills don't crave copper nearly as much as wabbits. Girls had a pet wabbit when they were little - very sociable, too. If they were flopped watching cartoons with a bowl of dry cereal for a snack, Dust Bunny would hop over for a piece of the action.

It also got shocked a number of times chewing on Christmas tree light cords. Didn't learn a thing from it, either.

Glad it was a simple fix! SW
