i just remembered a stevens SS bolt 410 i had....once when i was tired from walking hill-n-dale, stopped to rest, and i kinda was rough when set the shotgun down....butt first~ you guessed it!
kaboom, straight up, about 6" past my face!!!!
it would seem, there is no 'drop safety' on these older bolt actions.... i learned the BIG lesson that day~ always keep a gun pointed safely!!!!
p.s., i used to shoot 45 bolt, 44 mag, 44 specials out this ol stevens....never did tear her up....
