Picked this up at a small local show.
I was drawn in by the 4mD clone mount.
Savage 4X
Made in Japan.
Missing a screw on the underside.
Scope seemed okay at the show, and in the car afterwards when I focused the eye-piece properly on the plain fine cross-hairs.
Between the vibration of driving it home and me manipulating it to clean it, the cross-hairs collapsed.
I think the missing screw on the bottom of the scope is the reticle cell retainer.
Not at all lost yet- I may be able to come up with a repair out of all the 3/4" tube scope junk laying around here.
This is the first Savage scope I have seen in person, and of course it was only a 20.00 bill...
I like the steel turret caps a lot.
Next stop was a small local flea market.
I was actually looking for nikon mount m/f lenses....
Came across this RCAF alumni lapel pin, and I actually needed one to replace the last that was lost to a broken tack shaft.
Heavily worn, but it's going back on my dress jacket.

Then, from the same place, a strange little knife that has been worked on quite a bit.
These Premier branded knives have always been around, for most of my life.
The better originals were made in Japan, and were well made of good quality steel.
The original fake stag, or rosewood (depending on the model and price) scales, not so much.
Someone went to the trouble of replacing them with horn style micarta, which is actually sort of cool to my eye.
The knife has been extensively cleaned on a soft wheel- there are wheel marks on everything on this one.
Straightened out a kink in the main blade, and sharpened both.
It takes a good edge quite quickly, for which I am eternally grateful.
It needs a bit of oil to loosen up the tightness in blade opening.
Country of origin mark and steel type.
Main blade fully locks into the open position.
The closed secondary blade must be de-pressed inwards to release it.
Did I mention I like it? Yet?
