My friend in Italy sent me this link of the museum in Terni which contains over 8,000 pieces.

What a variety! I find it odd they display common commercial arms with their excellent assortment of very obscure weapons.

My favorite? I see a 6 shot C-96. I'd reeeeeely like to have one! Also a Guardie del Duce Carcano. Pretty much the holy grail for me - and impossible to obtain.

He also related a little about Italian gun laws. A citizen in good standing may own:

3 handguns
8 "sportive arms - long or short"
8 antiques
an unlimited number of hunting rifles.

To possess more than that requires a collecting license - one for handguns and one for antiques.

He said he is finally getting a Carcano rifle from the Italian army... after buying it SEVEN years ago!! :-o He told me you can still buy Carcanos, but they destroy thousands every year. SW
