I want to say it was the small Buick motor that was in the early 60's cars. Might be the aluminum one.

Yes I remember the killing from the ol Datsun's. The little Datsun roadster they made was a nice little convertible. You don't see too many of them these days. As to the Z cars, they were great until the smog boys started to force all that crap on them.

I have seen a few Z's that were boosted with a little small block Chevy and it was all under the hood! Sounded nice also.

Yep so if you have one and need parts for just call 1-800-land rover! I have a friend who has a Buick one sitting at his shop. I'm very tempted.

And I thought we were the only crazy people to stick a V-8 in a small car. In vocational school we put a 327 Vette motor in a Spitfire. Darn thing ran great in a straight line but the Pinto steering box and Mustang II front suspension made it handle like a pig. Took 100 pounds of lead in the front end to keep the wheels on the ground when it came off the line in a drag race.

in high school we had a guy put a pointic OHC 6 in a bug eye sprite :-o 2 speed chev slush box.same deal go like heel thru the 1/4 mile but he rolled it in the twisties.the car was kool as with that motor it looked like he had a blower sticking out of the hood.

Well I have been offered an early 60's Buick 215ci for my Spitfire. I am tempted by it because it's a small V8 and it is an aluminum motor! I just need to find the motor size in actual dimensions.

6 banger in a Bugeye! That must have been very wicked!

Hmm

Maybe I could just put my Spitfire body on the new Miata suspension?
