I have been working up some reloads for the one I have and its going to be a while till I have one I really like. I have been using IMR3130 and AA2520 so far.
I pretty much decided that IMR3130 is not the powder for the 7.62x54r.
I feel that AA2520 is going to be perfect for this round. It is slow enough that I haven't had any pressure signs at .5 grain from max load. Like any other round I have reloaded for accuracy is better below max load anyway. I will be loading more with this powder and will let everyone know what load works the best for me.
I still have some IMR4064 and IMR4895 to try.
I just got in 1000 Lapua D46 185gr bullets. So I can't wait to try these out.
I have a problem with the target sights on these guns, the aperture on the front sight makes a ring, then the front globe makes a ring, then the center of the globe is also a ring, so it looks like 3 rings. It is very , very hard to get a consistent sight picture.
Has anybody else had problems with the sights?
I am going to make new inserts for the front globe sight, maybe just a simple post and see if that helps.
Thanks, Steve
