I guess I must not be a "real man"
as I have a Desert Eagle MKIV in both .44 and .50 AE. And I love it! It IS large and unwieldy. So are many fine weapons, if you like dainty pistols, this ain't for you. But as a tool for dealing death, I choose the big dog. It is not a good carry, or gunfight pistol(unless its already drawn and pointed), but if you are a hunter I can recommend it. I like the .50 better, because the recoil is not much more than .44, but the bullet hits with DEVASTATING force. Any hit with a Beagle, is almost a fatal one, much like slugs. I have killed 2 deer with this pistol so far. A doe and a big buck, buck was running straight away, offering only an anus or back of the head shot. I chose head, and one handed a shot right into his brain stem at 40 yds(lucky!). Dropped instantly dead, and never even twitched. Hit the doe in the leg, and the shock of it just made her lay down and die. My friend has a .500 S&W that hammers your hand, and he can keep it, I choose the beagle hands down. Not great fun at the range, but the added adrenaline of live shooting seems to lessen the punch to the shooter. Bears, deer and pigs will all fold up like kleenex when hit by this fine Israeli weapon. I got mine for $925 with the .44 mag barrel, and $400 for the .50AE and 2 clips. If your manhood is in question, buy a harley or porsche, because they won't hurt you as often.Accurate and reliable, IMO. I'd rather have a big gun than a big hoo-haw any day of the week. 8)
